ChimeOut Wind Chime Silencer - Large

Fits our Tenor Music of the Spheres chime perfectly. I like that it is relatively easy to remove and install. I'd prefer to listen to my chimes on a daily basis, but also want to be ready to easily quiet them when strong winds come up.

This was a special order and it worked out fantastic. It is just the right size for my very large windchimes. I gave them the measurements and they created a custom silencer.

This was exactly what I was looking for, and I wasn't even sure if something like this existed. We hang our chimes right outside of our living room, but they can be distracting when watching movies or whatnot, so having the ability to mute them has been great. The price is also reasonable. My only concern is I'm not sure how long it will last outdoors, but time will tell.

If every business took care of their customers like this one does, no one would go out of business. I have a 3XL, grace mote chime. A large silencer does not accommodate it. I called and asked about an extra large silencer. They had me give them measurements and Saud they would custom one fir me. I was so pleased and appreciative of their willingness to help.

What a lifesaver! We have a 50” Corinthian chime and wanted to make sure we could silence it at night and this was perfect! Takes getting used to to set it up but now it’s a breeze every night!

Works as expected for larger chimes, say around 56 in and above, those with tubes of substantial diameter. BuyChimes will state when viewing a chime what the appropriate silencer size is recommended. Even if it is not a seuce fit, it will keep the tubes from banging in high winds. Highy recommend.

The butb is that if you have a 6 tube 50 incher you get a bit too large of gaps in the large silencer and a bit too small in the medium silencer. not dissatified but wish there was a better sweet spot. Was actually concerned about nowhere to secure the windsail as it just flies somewhat wildly in strong winds. Has not caused an issue for me yet. I do wish there was a way they would implement to secure the windsail too. I still would purchase again regardless of my criticism.

Easy to install and remove, and works great!

The Silencer is exactly what we needed. It's been tested out in 21 mph winds off our lake and there was not a ding or a clank to be heard. This protected the chimes and kept them silent, so our neighbors were happy too. We purchased the Large, and a Medium as well. I wish we had these earlier and it would have saved wear and tear on or Corinthian Bells chimes.

Such a great design and helpful thing to have! I received some beautiful large chimes as a Christmas gift and love how they sound and how they look hanging from our back porch. However, we live in town with neighbors close and the constant sound, albeit gorgeous tones, was a bit much at times for us and our neighbor, as it was right outside our backdoor close to windows in both houses. It was also really bad when we had a big storm come through and the chimes were too heavy and in a place that I couldn't remove them myself. I didn't want any damage or issues bothering my neighbors, so I was on the look for something to help. I was so grateful to find this product! It is a little tricky to get on and off, but that is just because it's awkward trying to get all the chimes in place without making a lot of noise. Once in place it sits solid and quiet. This allows me to still enjoy it's beauty and reserve the gorgeous tones for good weather days when I'm actually outside to enjoy it. I don't have to worry about bothering neighbors, going crazy with constant tones when there's a steady wind, or it being loud and damaged in a storm, during all the other times. I Love it.

We bought a chime-out for or smaller chime last year, and purchased the large chime-out for our new Corinthian Bells. They are perfect, and work as advertised!

Great product so far. This is first we have had to use due to high winds today.

When you have a wind chime that 7 1/2 feet tall and weighs about 20lbs it’s not real convenient to take down on windy evenings. Removing the sail doesn’t always work because the chimes will hit each other. I found a way to rig it so it didn’t make noise but was ugly. After some research, I found BuyChimes. They don't sell them in the size I needed but decided to reach out to them and they were able to custom make one for me. It looks so much nicer then what I was doing before.

Bought the silencer for chimes which I didn't buy from this site. Ended up going with the large because the tube diameter I have is 1.75". It fit the tubes really well, but was overall too large on the inside so they flare out a bit from the middle with it in place. Despite that, it silenced the chimes perfectly just as advertised!

These discs turned into Lifesavers during the recent storms here in Sacramento. They really helped us protect our windchimes and also keep our neighbors happy. I recommend these and also help temper noisy chimes.

I had been using some paracord and wrapping up my chime and tying it to a tree. The tubes rubbed on each other and started to chip the paint. The chime out stopped all that. My treasured chime is safe and quiet. Ive had strong winds lately and it works! I wish i bought it sooner!

The ChimeOut silencer is an amazing product! Until I found it, I was using velco straps to silence my gigantic chimes. This allows them to hang naturally, but silent when needed. We had a big windstorm last week and we heard not a peep from the chimes. My neighbors appreciate that. So easy to install. Inexpensive. You cannot go wrong, especially if, like us, your chimes are enormous.

So far, this is working well. I say "so far" because we haven't had our high winds yet. It is easy to put in place and the foam seems sturdy enough.

Only wish I had found it sooner! Live on the coast in southern Oregon where wind and gusts are the norm. Shuts that clanging right up! What a great time-saver too as opposed to using a ladder to take them up and down. Not forgetting to mention that living in a condo it keeps the neighbors happy too!

I'm so glad I found your company!!! This is a life saver. Not only does it protect my chime, but it quiets the crazy noise when it's too windy!!! I'm in Vegas and we get some pretty crazy winds sometimes, I'm thinking of getting another one to stack on top just to give even more support in the heavy winds.

Very easy to use. Keeps the chime quiet when applied at night and when the winds are strong. Protects the chimes much better than using a strap to bind the chimes together.

The Chime Out shipped and arrived quickly. It works perfectly during those super windy days when the chimes are a bit too noisy. So much easier than climbing up and taking them down.

This is such an amazing invention, simple but very effective. After purchasing my chimes, I needed something to silence them for windy nights so they would not disturb the neighbors. This does a great job! I sincerely wanted to give this silencer 5 stars, it truly deserves it but there was one thing I felt needs improvement. The slit cut to thread the string through needs to be more precise. I purchased 2 silencers and the slit in each of them is not cut correctly. They are crooked and uneven and it makes getting the string through more of a challenge. That said, this invention works and I am extremely happy with it. There is nothing else out there for silencing chimes that I have been able to find.

We absolutely love this product. It fits and works perfectly without harming our chime.

I have two beautiful wind chimes that hang on our back patio. There are certain times (big storms) where the winds make them too loud and interrupt our sleep. During these times it's far easier to add ChimeOut than to take down the chimes. Very happy I found them!

I got a set of beautiful Corinthian Bells that are definitely audible ! This year, the monsoons have been bringing heavy winds through, causing my chimes to crate quite the symphony! I was looking for a solution to keep the peace while also protecting the chimes and my wall, and found the ChimeOut. The product works exactly as I was hoping. I live where it can become very windy. When we received a beautiful large wind chime from friends my heart dropped. I've purchased both the Medium and the Large Silencers, and I really do think this is a must-have for anyone who loves wind chimes, but lives in an urban environment. I just figured out you can leave the silencer attached to the middle string of the chimes, pushed to the top ring. Silencing is a simple matter of dropping the silencer down over the tubes. So easy! Hope an extra-large version is on the horizon, for our super-big church chimes.

I moved to a new apartment and have to set my chimes on the patio right outside my bedroom window. These are perfect for the windy nights and are so easy to install. Love them!

This thing works great! It is thick sponge material. it is the perfect size for my large chimes. We will wait and see how it holds up to the sun and weather. I love it

Very innovative idea! We all have times when, no matter how beautiful the sound of our wind chimes, they can frankly be a little annoying especially if you have a prolonged windy period. I had been wracking my brain for a way to do this, when the usual trick of moving the center disc over the top didn't help as the tubes kept banging into each other. Thought about duct taping them together but didn't want to deal with the residue. ChimeOut to the rescue! Used it for my 2 very large windchimes. Fit one perfectly and the holes and overall diameter were a little small for the other (which is admittedly a really big wind chime). Even so, it was able to hold 5 of the tubes and it still worked.

I am so fortunate that I found this item. I did not know it existed. I just took a hunch and inquired online. This silencer enables me to be mindful of my neighbors at night, by silencing the chimes so their sleep is not disturbed. The craftsmanship is top notch. The silencer is so easy to use, that I am even able to apply it in the dark. I do wish that it came in an extra large size. The cord and the cylinders just barely fit in their allotted locations.

Simple yet extremely effective design allows us to silence our beautiful Corinthian Bells chimes on terribly windy days -- Truly does silence & protect the chimes -- excellent product!

I would give this a 4.5 if I could because the foam is a bit too thin and is already starting to split where we pull the clapper string through to keep it from hitting the chimes. BUT this is by far the best ever product to keep our neighbors happy at night. We live on the California Delta where the wind blows, often strongly, Spring and Summer and our chimes are merrily ringing day and night...much to the disturbance of a neighbor's sleep! This is an easy way to silence them at night and then quickly release them to sing to us all day!!

A few weeks ago we had horrific winds and I put the Chime Out on just to test it. It worked beautifully. All of the tubes stayed in place, and the foam neither shifted or came off. The design is good.
